BOVEC SKIING: HIKING OF THE BOVEC ALPINE SCHOOL TO THE PECOL MOUNTAIN
16/08/2017 – Bovec, Slovenia
This time we went with the youngest to the neighboring valley, "V Žlebeh" (Sella Nevea).
At the parking lot of the Italian part of the Kanin-Sella Nevea ski resort, we started the ascent through the children's training ground. On the old "FIS" slalom course, the slope was quite steep. The road softened it for a short time, but we soon turned into the forest again and quickly climbed to the first mountains following the supply "muleteers" of the third line of defense, the Italian army in the First World War.
When the first one was reached, the climb practically ended. The road led us past cows and pastures to the main part of the Pecol mountain, with really beautiful views of the Kanina and Rombon mountains.
Here, during a much-needed break, we also saw marmots. This was followed by a short climb to the Brazza hut, where we had sandwiches and strudel.
After a short conversation with the hostess (Zeno Cecon), we went down to the car and drove into the valley.
Really beautiful and probably the most difficult hike so far, so we would like to especially praise the children, because they did their best!
With our so-known children's ski range in Sella Nevea..
To the mountain Pecol.
Great view of Jalovec and Jerebica
And to skiing paradise!
Then past the cows..
Still a great view..
On Pecol.
Another strudel in the Brazza mountain hut, and so far the most difficult test is behind us.
